Privacy policy
Last updated: October 28, 2026
This policy explains what personal information WorkSi collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain language. If anything is unclear, contact our Privacy Officer.
Who we are
WorkSi Consulting Inc. (“WorkSi”, “we”, “us”) is a staffing and recruitment agency based in Mississauga, Ontario. We operate as a temporary help agency and also help employers recruit for permanent roles.
This policy applies to job seekers, workers we place with our clients, contacts at employer clients and visitors to our website. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and its fair information principles. We have designated a Privacy Officer who is accountable for how we handle personal information.
Information we collect
We collect only the information we need to find you work and run our business.
- When you apply: your name, email, mobile phone, preferred language, home city, province and postal code, the job types, cities and shifts that interest you, when you can start, whether you are legally entitled to work in Canada and how you heard about us.
- If you choose to share it: your resume, whether you have a driver’s licence and access to a car, your licences and certifications, and your expected pay.
- During screening: notes from your conversations with our recruiters, your availability, skills and experience, and the roles we discuss with you.
- If you accept an assignment: the information needed to employ and pay you, such as your Social Insurance Number, date of birth, home address, banking details for direct deposit, emergency contact, work permit details where they apply, hours worked and assignment records.
- Employer clients: business contact details, job requirements and records of the services we provide.
- Website visitors: technical information such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, kept in server logs for security. We collect analytics only if you allow them.
What we don’t ask for
Our application does not ask for your age or date of birth, gender, marital or family status, or citizenship. In line with the Ontario Human Rights Code, we only ask whether you are legally entitled to work in Canada.
Information needed for payroll or to confirm a work permit is collected only after you accept an assignment.
How we use your information
- To review your application and match you with suitable jobs.
- To contact you about work by phone, text message, WhatsApp or email.
- To present you to employers for specific roles.
- To onboard, schedule and pay you, and to meet our obligations as an employer, including payroll deductions, tax slips, Records of Employment, employment standards and workplace safety insurance.
- To respond to employer requests and manage our client relationships.
- To send you news and job opportunities, only if you have given separate permission.
- To keep our services secure, prevent fraud and meet our legal obligations.
People at WorkSi make hiring and placement recommendations. We do not make decisions about you using automated processing alone.
Your consent
When you submit an application, you agree that we may collect, use and share your information as described in this policy. Marketing emails need a separate, optional permission.
You can withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual requirements. If you withdraw consent for recruitment, we will no longer be able to consider you for work. We keep a record of the consent you gave and when.
Where your information is stored
Our main database and uploaded files, including resumes, are stored in Canada. Some service providers we use for website hosting, email delivery and analytics may process information in the United States.
Information processed outside Canada is protected by our agreements with those providers, but it is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its courts and authorities.
How we protect it
- Only invited WorkSi staff can access our recruiting system, and each person can see only what their role allows.
- Information is encrypted in transit between your browser and our services.
- Resumes are stored privately and opened through short-lived, access-controlled links.
- Changes to candidate records are kept in an activity history.
No system is completely secure. If a breach of security safeguards creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as the law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep application information while you are an active candidate, and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can tell you about new work. You can ask us to delete your application sooner.
Employment and payroll records for workers we place are kept for the periods the law requires, such as three years under Ontario’s Employment Standards Act and six years for tax records. When we no longer need information, we securely delete it or make it anonymous.
Your rights
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and how we have used and shared it.
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Withdraw your consent or ask us to delete your application.
- Stop receiving marketing emails at any time.
Send requests to our Privacy Officer using the details below. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We will respond within 30 days, and access requests are free.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca or 1-800-282-1376.
Emails from us
After you apply, we send a confirmation email and may contact you about your application. These messages are part of our service.
We send news and job opportunities by email only if you gave separate permission, in line with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Contact us at any time to stop them.
Age
Our services are for people of legal working age in Ontario. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 14.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services or the law change. We will post the new version on this page with a new date. If a change affects how we use information you already gave us, we will ask for your consent again where the law requires it.
